Concept

The Concept

In planning our yurt and bell tent holidays we wanted to be really green whilst still offering comfort and convenience . Some self catering and camping holidays offer one aspect of helping the environment, often recycling, but we have found few that are really green in many aspects. We want to provide relaxing and comfortable holidays that make the minimum practical adverse impact on the environment.

We have a range of green options available on site including wood burning stoves, barbeques and braziers, which have a zero carbon footprint as we use wood from sustainable woodland, but which may be less familiar and take a little longer than our quality Calor gas cookers which are convenient but less environmentally friendly. Guests are free to use either option. We also provide compost toilets and  solar shower.

Yurt and Bell tent

We have carried out extensive research to find the greenest options in all areas of our holidays, whilst still maintaining choice, comfort and quality. We reduce, recycle and re-use everything that we can, and make it easy for our guests to do the same. We aim to constantly re-evaluate what we do so that we strive to become even greener year by year.

We make it easy to leave the car at home with green transport options and a free pick up service from the local ferry port.
We use environmentally friendly products on site and recycle or re-use everything we can.

We use local produce and support local businesses wherever possible and buy our new equipment and furnishings from companies with good green credentials whenever we can.

Our yurt holidays not only provide a comfortable base from which to explore the beauty and attractions of the Isle of Wight, but also provide an outdoor living experience that may change people’s approach to their own lifestyle. Guests also have the peace of mind of knowing that their green camping holiday is adding little, if anything to the effects of global warming.

On the following pages you will find more information about most aspects of our holidays. If you have any questions that you would like us to answer please contact us.
